Serangan penembakan itu diduga dilakukan oleh Kelompok Kriminal Bersenjata (KKB). Pada kejadian tersebut, dua anggota Polri, Bripda Arnaldobert dan Bripda Sandi Defrit, gugur dalam tugas, dikatakan Kabid Humas Polda Papua, Kombes Pol Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo dalam keterangannya, Rabu (20/3/2024). Kedua anggota Polri yang gugur dalam tugas saat berjaga di helipad 99 di Distrik Baya Biru, Paniai. Selain menembak kedua anggota Polri tersebut, KKB juga mencuri 2 pucuk Senjata laras panjang AK-47.
Saat ini aparat keamanan TNI/Polri sedang melakukan pengejaran para pelaku penembakan dan jika mengadakan perlawanan, pihak keamanan tidak segan akan memberikan tindakan tegas.
Dua anggota polisi bernama Bripda Arnaldobert dan Bripda Sandi Defrit gugur usai ditembak oleh Kelompok Kriminal Bersenjata (KKB) pimpinan Aibon Kogoya. Kedua polisi tewas diserang saat menjaga landasan untuk helikopter di Kabupaten Paniai, Papua Tengah pada Rabu (20/3/2024) sekira pukul 08.00 WIT.

Separatist Shot Dead Two Cops in Central Papua Took Away Two AK-47
Tragic news emerged from Paniai, Central Papua, as two police officers, Bripda Arnaldobert and Bripda Sandi Defrit, lost their lives in a brutal attack by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Aibon Kogoya. The officers were ambushed while on duty guarding a helicopter runway on Wednesday morning, (20/3/2024) at around 08.00 LT. The incident, which resulted in the loss of two valuable members of the National Police force, also saw the theft of two AK-47 rifles by the perpetrators.
Papua Police Public Relations Head, Police Commissioner Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, confirmed the devastating loss, highlighting the dedication of the fallen officers who were carrying out their duties in the Baya Biru District. The security forces, including TNI/Polri, are currently in pursuit of the assailants responsible for this heinous act. It is clear that any resistance will be met with swift and decisive action from the authorities.
