Pj Gubernur Papua Selatan , Apolo Safanpo, menyatakan komitmennya untuk mendukung penuh kegiatan Kongres Ke-XXXIII dan MPA Ke-XXXII Perhimpunan Mahasiswa Katolik Republik Indonesia (PMKRI) yang akan diselenggarakan di Merauke pada tahun 2024.
Hal ini disampaikannya saat menerima audiensi dan menyambut baik kedatangan Pengurus Pusat PMKRI, DPC PMKRI Cabang Merauke dan Panitia Pelaksana Kongres dan MPA PMKRI di kantor Gubernur Papua Selatan, Jumat (22/3/2024). Ketua Presidium PMKRI Cabang Merauke, Susana Florika M. Kandaimu, menjelaskan bahwa Merauke terpilih menjadi tuan rumah kegiatan nasional ini berdasarkan hasil kesepakatan Sidang MPA ke-XXXII di Samarinda pada tahun 2022.
Sementara itu, Ketua Panitia Pelaksana Lambertus Ayiriga menyampaikan perkembangan persiapan Kongres dan MPA PMKRI. Ayiriga mengharapkan kegiatan ini dapat berjalan dengan lancar dan kondusif, dan ia pun mengapresiasi partisipasi dan dukungan dari Pemerintah Provinsi Papua Selatan. Selama 9 bulan panitia telah mempersiapkan dan melaksanakan program-program demi terlaksananya kegiatan ini. Panitia mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Pemerintah Provinsi Papua Selatan yang selama persiapan ini selalu ikut berpartisipasi.
Tri Natalia Urada, Ketua Presidium Pengurus Pusat PMKRI Sanctus Thomas Aquinas Periode 2022-2024, berharap Kongres dan MPA PMKRI dapat membawa dampak positif bagi masyarakat di Merauke.
Menyambut kegiatan ini, Pj Gubernur Papua Selatan Apolo Safanpo menyatakan akan bekerja sama dengan panitia penyelenggara untuk memastikan segala persiapan dan fasilitas yang diperlukan tersedia dengan baik.

The Acting Governor of South Papua Fully Supports the 2024 PMKRI Congress and MPA in Merauke
The Acting Governor of South Papua, Apolo Safanpo, has pledged his full support for the upcoming XXXIII Congress and XXXII MPA of the Association of Catholic Students of the Republic of Indonesia (PMKRI) in 2024. He made this commitment during a meeting with the PMKRI Central Management, PMKRI DPC Merauke Branch, and the Organizing Committee at the South Papua Governor’s office. The Chairman of the PMKRI Merauke Branch, Susana Florika M. Kandaimu, explained that Merauke was chosen as the host city based on a decision made during the XXXII MPA Session in Samarinda in 2022.
He conveyed this when receiving an audience and welcoming the arrival of the PMKRI Central Management, PMKRI DPC Merauke Branch and the PMKRI Congress and MPA Organizing Committee at the South Papua Governor’s office, Friday (22/3/2024).
Lambertus Ayiriga, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, provided an update on the preparations for the event and expressed his gratitude for the support from the South Papua Provincial Government. The committee has been working tirelessly for 9 months to ensure that the Congress and MPA will be a success. Tri Natalia Urada, Chair of the PMKRI Sanctus Thomas Aquinas Central Management Presidium, is hopeful that the event will have a positive impact on the people of Merauke.
Acting Governor Apolo Safanpo assured the committee of his cooperation to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place for the event. He is committed to working closely with the organizers to make sure that everything runs smoothly. The South Papua Provincial Government’s participation and support have been greatly appreciated throughout the preparation process.
